Jakks Pacific Girl Gourmet Cupcake Maker Reviews...

Pacific Girl Cupcake Maker4
I purchased this product for my 9 1/2 year old daughter even though it generally had bad reviews. She asked for it many times, so when I saw it for only $9.99 on Amazon, I thought it was a good deal even if it wouldn't work the greatest. Well, it actually is simple to use--I did not help my daughter with it. It's relatively easy to clean except for a few parts that are a little difficult to get into the cracks and crevices, but that's a lot like many small kitchen appliances, etc. that I own, so it's not a big deal. It does not take long to assemble or disassemble. Making the cupcakes is as simple as your microwave; you mix it up, put it in the microwave, and voila you have a cupcake. Putting the icing on was a little messy--my daughter mentioned that. And, she did like the taste as did my two younger kids who are 7 and 8. So, I don't know why there were so many negative reviews. My only complaint is that the refills are expensive (something like $5 for a package) but it is a lot nicer than the Easy Bakes and it actually makes a little cupcake instead of a small paper thin cake like Easy Bake along with their tins that are next to impossible to clean. Overall, this is a sturdy product that is easy to use and assemble and does make nice little cupcakes.

Ok, but use regular cake mix instead3
Ok, my kids actually love the ability to make one cupcake at a time in the microwave by themselves. They use it a lot, but we do not buy the expensive, pretty gross, mixes that you can buy with it. We use regular cake mix. I have them put 2-3 spoonfulls into the bowl and add water to the right consistency, then bake in microwave. This actually tastes really good and works out nicely. We also use canned frosting and put it in the frosting thing. I don't think it frosts very well, but my kids really like to use it, so I figure it's ok. Again, not the best product, but kids love it and use it all the time. It's a good way to make a quick treat. I'm ok with the $10 I spent on it, but wouldn't pay much more.
